I am not sure what he means. I understood that most riggers will not work from plans as boats get modified and may not be "as plan". It is usual for the rigger to make the new rigging same as before. Plus the rigger ought to know from experience what wire size is right for the size and type of boat. The 815 is a bog standard cruiser after all.

Same applies to sails. They are usually made to actual measurements.
