Hi John, bearing in mind your boat is about the same length and weight as an Elysian 27, you may be able to use the same type of box and gear ratios as them. Many of them had BMC 1.5s so it would seem quite logical to assume. If you give John Cressy a call at Maffett Cruisers 01508 520344, he should be able to help, as he used to have 2 Elysian 27s in his fleet. He is also a Lloyds approved marine engineer and Gearbox service centre on the Norfolk Broads, so he should be able to help, either with information, or even be able to supply you with a new or re-conditioned box.
