Can anybody advise me of the normal running temperature of a thornycroft 154 2.52 diesel engine fitted with a 82 degree thermostat. the engine runs at just over 80 degrees after 1 hours running at about 1200 revs ,before it was rebuilt it used to run at about 70 degrees under normal cruising conditions the temp sender unit was also replaced during the rebuild therefore stat and sender are new the engine has new big ends, mains, crank, con rods and the cylinders were professionally re-honed. the original untouched port engine runs at between 70 degs on the river at 1500rpm and 80 degs at sea at about 2000rpm . any advice would be gratefully received
