>Hi Peter
>Welcome to the club. We have an 8 metre with serial number 3701 and she is 1975 vintage so I guess yours was the next one completed. Maybe other members could help with the history?
>Congratulations on the window job, well done. We're the only Seamaster crew we know who have tackled this. Think you were lucky with the mitre screws 'cos even with WD40 we had to drill out half of ours!! From your excellent photo log the screws look larger so it is possible that they are replacements as the female thread in aluminium is easily damaged by the drilling. We're amazed at how many fasteners on the boat are just galvanised. Maybe they didnít expect them to last as long as they have. We always look at other SM sliding windows in passing and very few have the proper seal in good condition!
>Look forward to hearing / seeing more of 'Destiny' on the blog
