Your response is fine, in fact it's good to get some comment back. I am surprised that the rain is getting in under the canopy/top of windscreen joint. However, perhaps it is just a poorly fitting canopy. I don't think you will need to wait long for wind and rain, this past couple of days should have proved that!
You do not say where you are based, if you are on the Thames let me know as we could meet up for a chat regarding the problem. We had a new canopy made 5 years ago and took the opportunity to change the canopy style at the same time, getting more head room and light into the cockpit in doing so. If you do go down the route of a new canopy it's worth considering this option as I think it transforms the boat and makes it far better to helm with the canopy up in wet weather (and we have had plenty of that in the last couple of years!)
