Hi Paul, You've got it more or less right. First of all though, the boat won't sink when you unscrew the greaser on the stern gland. Get yourself some grease (Peachments in Brundall will stock it), unscrew the cap and pack it with grease. Screw the cap back on and turn it until you feel resistance. Continue to turn the cap as this forces grease into the gland. usually you will see some of the grease start to emerge between the gland nut and the prop shaft. When this happens, that's it, job done. What I normally do is to give the cap a few turns before setting off each time, then periodically refill the cap. Hope this helps,
