The mast foot on our Sailer 29 suffered some damage while the mast was being re-stepped after a winter lay-up. It was an insurance claim and the Ins co put the boat into a local yard. They tried to source a replacement casting but, not surprisingly after more than 20 years, one could not the source for the company that had taken over the original manufacturer. The yard removed the foot and had the single crack cut out and welded by a specialist engineering company.

I dont know if this is an option with yours, depends how badly damaged it is. I would seek the advice of a good local yard or rigger.

Where is the boat based?

Ian
