 Ophelia Mars married William R Bethany (ca 1831-ca 1882). They had six children: Nancy b. 1854, Mary T b. 1857, Sylvester (called "Beck")1870-1961 and William Thomas (my maternal grandfather) 18 August 1872- 6 September 1938. William Thomas married Susan Anne Ridout (20 March 1874-20 February 1958), the daughter of Charles Aldrich Ridout and Anne Hardy. William and Susan had six children: Charles William b. 1893, Eula b. 1896, Ruby b. 1898, Roger Henry b. 1900, Gladys (my mother) b. 21 September 1904-d. 27 January 1972 and Rodney James b. 1906.
