As for American independance from Britain? Well, you ever hear of the Howe Brothers? Lord Admiral Richard Howe, Lord General William and the third Howe brother in Parliament??

See, 40 years ago Professor McManus taught us in class that America was a de facto autonomous nation already before our war, that smart Brits knew this, and the Howe bpos argued that it was best to accept the reality that the colonials would win the war in the long run, even if they lost all the battles, and tghat it would be wiser to negotiate a regonition of this and a commonwealth peace pact. Yes, they lost the political battle in London, but the war went pretty
much as they predicted. Way it goes, cooler heads lose, even when the rule the British army and the navy.

In the Save South, the 99 percent of Southerners who owned no slaves were solid in their backing of salve culture. it is a disgusting lie to even suggest otherwise. I've read editorials from major southern newspapers of the times. Their hatred bigotry and racism was open, unashamed and without limits. Nothing but WAR was gonna end it. Napoltiano args are not just blatantly false, they are creepy. I dismiss him out of hand. If he gets something else right, its an accident.
