Sorry about duplicating your question, my computer just did a very biazzre thing; anyway- check the outboard payout counter wipers to make sure they are not hitting on the zero stop switch metal block. It is a little square block that holds the zero stop rubber bumper. If it is hitting on a large pay, tighten the screw on the spiral cam to bring the wipers in (but don't tighten too much) also your Spring may need adjusting on your rachet (the white round piece having 100 teeth), if it too tight, the hopper will run away, if it is too loose, it won't pay at all. You might want to back it off just a turn (the spring) and see what happens. 1st, maually step up your payout counter 100 times and see if the wiper arms are hitting anything. Then retract the wipers by pressing on the reset lever, it should go back to zero on your payout disc. If it is not hitting anything, I would adjust the tension spring, it may be wound too tight. (thus a runaway hopper)
>>Okay I have a Bally 847 E/M slot machine (got my bell
>>working thanks everyone) Now to my next problem I
>>tested all my payouts and all the small payouts pay
>>off perfect except when the payouts get to over 100
>>coins then I get a runaway hopper it almost emptys my
>>hopper until the safty timer shuts it down where
>>should I start looking for the problem?
