Subject: Games of Nevada Video poker help needed PLEASE!!

I picked up a Games of Nevada video poker machine at a thrift store a few weeks ago. The screen had a vertical collapse so I put vertical IC chips in it. That problem solved.
Now that I can see the screen, every time I power on the same 5 cards come up and some coins pay out. The screen says reset and call attendant comes on when the hopper stops feeding coins out. I push the reset button inside the machine and it just goes through this cycle again.
I noticed the internal battery was dead and have a new one on order. Could this be the issue?
Is there some other way to reset that I am missing?
In reading multiple forums and watching countless videos on youtube, I have found nearly nothing on these machines.
The model number on the machine is GVP7-0432. It was made in 2-85.
Any help or insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
