Subject: I think that all of Mic's motives for what he did were manipulations to impress and get Mac. He may have had an alterior motive with the law firm, but IMHO he was manipulating situations to put him in the best possible light with Mac. Inside

2. The addition of Sergei gave a human side to Harm Sr. and not the pedestal approach of a young son towards his father. Plausable, maybe...it did give the writers something to wrap a storyline around for awhile.
3. Renee was dead on about Harm and Mac. Although she didn't want to admit it, she knew from the start as did many others who observed them, that they had a "thing" for each other even if they were not admitting it and when they finally did, they would be together. Renee was also pretty much on track with Harm's relationship with his mom and his need to protect her. Where Renee was absolutely clueless was with Harm's career. She didn't understand it at all and was always an outsider. It didn't help anything either that she always projected such a superficial appearance around others. She never really seemed to be much more than a stereotypical blonde.
4. One word - Paraguay. They both wanted each other, but all the fallout from that fateful arc had to be sorted through and they had to find their way back to each other. In the final analysis, it would make their relationship stronger, but oh, what we all endured to get there!
5. Harm's leading with his heart(impulsiveness) would lean towards some of the characteristics of the CAG. Although, I have a feeling that even though we really didn't get all the backstory on Harm Sr., he could be just as impulsive, when the situation warranted. I think Harm respected the CAG not only for his position, but as a family friend and someone with close ties to his dad.
6. Harm had become a stronger person. Kate might have pushed Harm to make a move on Mac as she could see the distinct draw between the two, but she wouldn't have been a good fit back at HQ - her time had passed and I'm not sure she could have been a 3rd fiddle behind Harm and Mac.
7. I really didn't see a decline in the series at this point.
8. This season had lots of ups and downs. Lifeline certainly showed us a lot about Harm and Mac and pulled at your heartstrings at the thought of them not being together unless one of them "let go". Besides Sergei's introduction, the two pivotal moments for me in this season were Lifeline and Adrift. We truly got to see where Harm and Mac wanted to be, but were left with, will they get their chance? I would say that overall it was a good season, just one with lots of surprises and suspence.
