Harmy Awards Presentation - Best Episode of the Entire Series

Araninda walks center stage and surveys the crowd. “Ladies, today’s Harmy Award is a biggie!” Everyone in the audience immediately screams “CW!” because of course biggie is synonymous in the HarmyBoard dictionary with CW. “No, ladies, not yet. That’s the next and final presentation. Today’s presentation is – Best Episode of the Entire Series”. Everyone reluctantly settles back in their seats as Araninda begins reading.

”Our first nomination is Season 6’s Lifeline. Some reasons why this episode is a favorite: the porch scenes, the flashbacks, the first real kiss between Harm and Mac, and the ending in which Harm and Mac’s hands touch." Araninda waves her arms to poof a flashback vignette. Everyone leans forward in their seat, eager to see Harm and Mac kissing on the Admiral’s front porch. But Mac is standing there alone. No Harm. She glares at Araninda who hurriedly waves her arms again and the scene disappears.

“Hmm, a poof malfunction,” Araninda muses. “Let’s move on. Our second nomination is Season 2’s Washington Holiday. Some reasons why this episode is a favorite: Harm gorgeous in civvies, dress whites and mess dress, Harm flirting with both the princess and Mac, Harm and Mac dancing at the ball, the comedy of Bud and Harriet’s first real date." Poof! In a flash, all the Harmy ladies are at the ball in their low cut finery, blue boas draped across their shoulders, waiting the chance to dance with Harm. But where is he?

Araninda sighs. This isn’t going well at all. The only thing that could make this worse is. . . . . yes, you got it . . . . The 500-pound gorilla staggers onto the stage and plops down beside her. He gestures wildly and begins making strange sounds. Fortunately Araninda speaks fluent gorilla (it’s the same dialect as West Virginia hillbilly), so she is able to translate ape grunts. “No, no,” she admonishes her unwanted Award crasher. “You cannot have another jug of moonshine. Drinking and drivel do not mix. You’re already slobbering all over the stage. And where is Harm? What have you done with him?”

The gorilla folds his arms and refuses to answer. The crowd starts to get restless so Araninda continues. “Our third nomination is Season 7’s In Country. Some reasons why this episode is a favorite: Mac saving Harm in the minefield with a trick she learned from a movie; the 'leg' scene with Harm and Mac cuddling in the desert; Webb’s code name 'Sexy Beast'; Harriet punching Singer." Araninda waves her arms and sure enough, Mac is in the desert ready to snuggle, but there’s no Harm with her. “What have you done with my man?” she shouts at Araninda. “You and your boa-clad friends have created chaos in my series life.” “Mac, honestly, we have been loyal to you and Harm for many years. We borrow him and play with him but we always send him back. It’s the 500-pound gorilla’s fault. He kept you apart for nearly nine years and he’s still at it.” “What gorilla? Where is he? I’ll pulverize him into a pigmy monkey!” Mac shouts back as she jumps up and assumes a Marine attack position. Araninda looks around, but no one else is onstage. “The gorilla was right here! Oh, dear. Sorry, Mac, we’ll get Harm back as soon as we can.” Araninda quickly waves her arms and poofs the scene away before Mac becomes even more angry.

“Our final nomination is Season 4’s The Black Jet. Some reasons why this episode is a favorite: Harm in adventure mode, Harm’s dark shirt flapping in the desert wind, Harm flying, Harm hugging Mac twice and showing his concern for her, the Bedouin chief, and of course, Keeter." Araninda finishes reading and looks up. “Maybe that’s where Harm is. He went flying in his black jet. But we’ll get him back!”

She strides purposely across the stage and SMACK, runs into something invisible and knocks herself out. Usmgrad and Lee rush onstage. “What happened to her?” Lee asks. Usmgrad puts out her hand and tentatively touches the unseen object. “Gracious, it’s the plexiglass shield that the gorilla used throughout the series to keep Harm and Mac apart. Whenever Harm and Mac looked longingly at each other, BOOM, this invisible shield would come down to keep them from touching.” “There’s a note under the shield,” Lee points out. Usmgrad quickly scoops it up. “It’s from the gorilla and it says that we haven’t yet reached the last 7.5 minutes of the Award show, so until then he's making sure that we can’t find Harm. It also says the Best Episode of the Entire Series is Lifeline. The person who nominated the winner is you, Lee. You get Harm for an evening if we can find him.” “I won?” Lee cries. “We have to find him. I demand the right to Harm now!” She pulls out a cell phone. “Who ya gonna call?” Usmgrad curiously asks. “Gorillabusters!” Lee firmly replies.
