Subject: S4- Harm- Nobody's Child/Goodbyes

In Season 4, beginning with the heart wrenching episode Nobody's Child, Harm made it his mission not only to find Annie Lewis' murderer but to also protect her twin sister Darlin. In Season 4 episode Goodbyes, this led to a showdown between Harm and Charlie Lynch. As the screen went black Harm shot and killed Charlie Lynch. Do you think it was self defense, or did Harm take the law into his own hands? Why?

[> It was self defense. Harm was never trigger happy, but he defended himself and others witthout hesitation. If Harm had hesitated and even let Charlie wound him then Darlin would have been at his mercy....again. He was a good man and a good officer and his mission was clear. Save Darlin and stop Charlie Lynch from ever hurting anyone again. He might have lived to be treated, his mind might have healed, but he didnt give Harm a choice. To allow that kind of unchecked evil loose on an unsuspecting world after he had murdered at least 3 people, one of them a dependent child would have been inexcusable. -- mkim, 14:13:01 02/18/15 Wed

[> Absolutely agree, mkim. Charlie rears up, ax in hand, and Harm has only one choice. And maybe, Charlie knew by that point he'd been bested and cornered by a better man, and decided to use Harm's self defense as suicide. Either way, Harm completed the mission. -- The Chief, 22:18:51 02/18/15 Wed

[> I totally agree. Harm protected Darlin as he did all children ( like Josh in earlier episodes). These two episodes had a haunting side, Harm's visions of Darlin. His compansion for the child even though Jordan tried to tell him otherwise, Harm knew what was best for Darlin. I think in the end Harm was right and Jordan was wrong, Darlin needed Harm to be close. If he had been closer then maybe Charlie won't have bene able to get her. -- usmgrad, wonderful collage, 08:06:42 02/19/15 Thu
