EOTW Status. . . Onward!

Thank you for your comments last week about the EOTW. I carefully considered all your suggestions and decided the following:

Let's continue the season-by-season rotation and elimination of the winner, picking up this week where we left off with Season 1 and the start of our 14th rotation.

However, I also recognize that we have a lot of newcomers who missed out on our earlier EOTW discussions. So, halfway through each rotation and at the end of the rotation (after Season 5 and after Season 10), we will have a special EOTW Rerun Discussion from previous winning episodes. You will get to vote on the rerun from a category list that I will compile. This may sound complicated, but stay tuned, I think we’ll have some fun with this.

We have about 90 episodes left to discuss, and adding in the reruns, we will be going strong for at least the next two years. So don’t anyone plan on leaving us, LOL!

Which brings me to participation. Of course you can vote and not participate in the discussion. We all have busy lives and there are weeks when we just can’t join in. But to those lurkers who vote each week and have never participated in the discussion, it just isn’t fair to our community for you to do that.

I don’t agree with comments such as "I don’t post in the discussion because I don’t have anything new to add.” This is cyberspace, and we posters don’t know if there’s anyone out there reading our posts unless we get feedback. So if you don’t have anything new to add, then surely you can post "I totally agree” or "good thoughts” or something similar under someone else’s post. If you are embarrassed about your English language skills, then don’t be. We are a very welcoming community and all of us, I think, have stumbled trying to write a post.

One more suggested change in the EOTW was to have "guest discussion leaders” so that I can take an occasional break and the discussion can be led by different viewpoints. I like this idea perhaps for every other rotation. So let’s start with this rotation, and see if there’s enough interest to make this suggestion work. Pick a season in which you would be willing to lead the discussion for this rotation only and e-mail me your choice or post it below. I’ll start and end the voting period, then you start the discussion for the winning episode. If no one picks a season, then of course, I’ll continue to lead the discussion. So if you would be willing to lead a discussion during this rotation, pick your season and let me know.

Sorry this thread is long, but I wanted everyone to be aware of what will be taking place. Voting for our EOTW will begin later this evening. I appreciate your continued support.

Unfortunately RL has been such that I get to the computer only a couple of times a week and unfortunately it looks to be like that for most of the rest of the year. I do enjoy the discussions when I get to them however and I'm glad they will continue. I will join in voting and discussions again as soon as I either get a DVD player and the early seasons DVDs or when EOTW starts again with the eps I've seen -- whichever comes first!! I'm still keen!
