Hi all, it's been a long time since I was last here!
I still have 2 solo laptops, a 9300 14" and a 9300VE 15"

I decided just for the fun of it, to see how well the 14" with a 700Mhz PIII and 544Mb of ram would cope with Vista and was surprised at how well it worked, at least as quick as XP if not better.

The default vista standard vga driver still allowed full screen res @ 1024 x 768 and 16, 24 or 32 bit color.
I was also surprised to find that 'Big Z's' 5772 XP video driver loaded fine with only the ati control panel being not compatible [no big], but after some comparisons with the default vista driver, there seems little point in loading the 5772 driver anyway unless you plan to try to get the video capture to work again.
The 5772 driver did cause an unknown device to show up in device manager which will be the capture device.

I tried the win2k audio driver from gateway's website and that worked fine with only the mpu 401 not working [again no big]

I then tried loading a quicktime codec that has media player classic bundled with it, opened a quicktime movie file and it played full screen with no video or audio glitches!
There was one complaint from vista while installing the codec, but I clicked ignore and it seems to work thus far.

Vista set up the classic interface by default, but I could switch to the vista look in themes.
It also decided that my machine was sooo sloow that Aero was not even an option!! lol! :)

I've yet to try and get the nic and modem working.
