Pieter,
The test program identifies it as a 2402. Does it actually check the drive itself, or echo the info out of device manager? I looked at the label, and it doesn't appear like the label has been peeled off, or like the screws have been disturbed. Maybe the whole case was skillfully changed. I purchased in a laptop off of ebay. The laptop was not working at the time, but is now repaired. The original cert. on this units indicates it is suppose to have the CDRW. Anyway to tell what is really inside, or is it possible that somehow it has been flashed wrong? Any harm in trying to reflash with the 2002 software, or might this kill the drive for good?
Thanks,
Murray
