Pieter,

I purchased a SD-R2102 off of ebay, that was orginally from a Dell, and changed over to Gateway carrier. Installed, it, and it came up fine recognized as CDRW, DVD. Therefore, it looks like I really was scammed. Apparently someone must have peeled the label off very carefully, or somehow exchanged cases, I would suspect label since it seems like a more extensive job to exchange cases, the face plate is pretty much of a snap in. I do notice on this model that the activity light is always green, on read or record, and that the light on the supposed SD-R2002 was yellow. Just wondering what color the led is on your SD-R2002? If it is green also, it then confirms that this was indeed an intentionally mismarked unit. Also wondering what the readout looks like under device manager (XP) with the firmware updated. Does it only show one region change left, but still ask to select a region? I don't anticipate using other region disks, but it might me nice to have if it doesn't interfere with the CDRW functioning. Thanks,

Murray
