Hello,

I have a gateway Solo 1100 that has a BIOS password locking the BIOS Menue and Boot. I aquired the machine from a friend and he unfortunately does not recall the password. I would like to fix this machine for my son so I ask if someone here has the knowledge to lend a hand. I have tried the reset button on the bottom chassis however that did not work. I dissasembled the the unit and removed the keyboard exposing the motherboard and CPU (I followed the instructions by Jose on this forum)I was hoping to find the CMOS backup battery but it appears that there is none. I did see a jumper switch close to the CPU which could hold the key to the BIOS reset. Does anyone here know what this jumper switch is for? If it for the BIOS what is the proper switch combination?
