sorry it's me again..her friends on the idol message board has confirmed she's filipino-american..another filipina to support in the top 24..hope she can get as far or farther than jasmine..go Melinda!!!

they did that with Jasmine last year also..but she got to the top 3..so i dont think it will hurt her..if she does good tuesday..people will follow her..i have a good feeling about her..i dunno..maybe just a hunch..

Her cousin posted on Idol's booards and confirm that she is 1/4 Pinay and Hispanic. From the impression I got, her cousin was not happy about all the talk about her ethnicity. I guess he misunderstood....Pinoys cant help but feel pride about our own, right?

OK, this I do know for sure because I know her personally. she is both filipino and mexican but she is more mexican than anything. her and her cousins are really good friends of mine.

Melinda is half filipina(dad's side) and half mexican(mother's side). I am a very close friend of hers. She is doing awesome and is performing in LA with her new producers. She is finishing up her debut album to be released in January and has a crew of about 15 people working for her. Including a stylist, nutrtritionist, manager and music director for her band.
