Author: anthony [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 19:31:26 05/19/04 Wed Author Host/IP: cache-dtc-ab04.proxy.aol.com/205.188.116.68 this has been expected for a few weeks now..this week they sang 3 songs each..the finalist's choice, the judges'choice and the guest judge's choice..she did good in all of them but the songs didn't fit her voice..i think they sabotaged her cuz they don't want her in the finals..even tho she's gone, Jasmine shouldn't feel bad..she's already a winner..she got to the top 3..i'm proud of her and i know her fans and pinoys/pinays are also everywhere..can't wait to see what she will do in the future..looking forward to hear a cd from her..Way To Go Jasmine!!! And even Barry Manilow. No surprise.. Clive is Barry's music God(ian) More to talk about and clarify next time. This boy has not had a good night sleep since she made the top 5. I'am not dissapointed one bit. Same should go for all you Pinoy music fans out there.. Jasmine did us all proud! They loved her as a person. They all wanted her to be the winner!! Rather than saying "she deserves to lose." People were sad to see her go! hehe.. That's the way you would have wanted to go too. They won't be forgetting her anytime soon. And you can bet the hen house every major record company in the world has one nationality going through their head these days.. they can't help it! Its the Filipino music artist. That 1-2 punch by Jasmine and Camile should have done it for everyone. Its now just a matter of wait and seeing.. mmJun :-) Feel and see the possibilities.. He's like a music icon idol-hero of mine. And there's no doubt when it comes to music he treats it as serious business. He's not there to be charitable. She seems to be good with Natalie Cole songs. She sang a soft/slow one earlier that was impressive. I think what did he in was that Whitney Houston song she did before this song. mmJun ;-/ There was a blockout earlier. Wiped out what was probably a post that should have seen the light. Especially on your topic of her being treated unfairly. I said I was not surprised at all. But explaining it clearly again why.. I'm just not up to it anymore. I still see it as a good thing and the best thing at this time. That her star may rise higher now than if she was the second runner up. And like another fan was thinking.. American Idol had a risk factor coming up if she did win. That music fan just may have been right about that. Let's see what happens first in the coming weeks. But I think Jasmine's music career has been made. Maybe not with Davis yet. It would be grand if he picks her too. I'm sure Manilow had alot to say about her to his ears. You all know about Manilow, right? How he loves the Filipinos and is very fond of us. And he knows very well about how talented Pinoys are. He witnessed it himself on stage when he pulled a semi-professional Filipina singer (he didn't know it) right out of the audience and sang 'Can't Smile Without You' with her. I believe the story goes that Manilow said "Does all Filipinos good singers?!" She has her own style, but she's not consistent. I like her too not because i'm a Filipino but more of her overall personality and good voice. But she mostly went off tune on some of her renditions. I hope she could improve and get a good voice coach. As per the result of the AI standing, i believe, the remaining two deserve to stay. Maybe Jasmine was not given a good song to sing, but considering all their performances, i think theres a good reason to accept the result. i never meant to pull Jasmine down, i am for what i believe is rightful to my ear, i even stand for her on idol fan forums when they bash her. but i think someone deserve to be AI better than her like La toya or Fantasia. i don't want you guys to agree with me, just my own judgement. i would even say that Star for a night winner Sarah Geronimo or Star for a Million runner up Sheryn is better than her.
