It is intriguing. But those guys are real vote killers. Have always been. (this is a repost) I thought the same way once before. When they beat Regine for the favorite artist award about 4 years ago? We would have to check with Jim Ayson of PhilMusic. But I remember complaining just like you were but Jim kinda of set things straight about them. They had a large following. And they seem pretty BIG nowadays too. I thought Regine was still winning by a mile. But fans did slowed down some at the end. It sure seems like she was a winner. But that group is a monster when it comes to their own fan support. Especially today with that BIG hit of theirs playing everywhere still. You know what song I mean? mmJun :-( It'll be nice to get something from MTV about the tally. I wrote them once but never got a reply. Maybe someone else should try again. But its not that hard to believe. Sad to admit. I just don't understand why a group is being paired with a solo singer! REGINE HAD BEEN SO CONSISTENT ALL THE TIME WITH THIS LEAD!!! for crying out loud. and if really the parokya has that big fan base, how come their FORUM only ONE PAGE while regine has more than 20 and other asians also were voting for her.. so it's really impossible. EVEN THE PAROKYA FANS e sumuko na kahit nuong una pa....please please help us...this shouldn't have happened. we were really disappointed. 5% winning over 70%? IT WAS MTV's moronic and barbaric strategy to HIDE the result for a month coz they were trying to make the show look good by letting the people who would be there to WIN...they wanted not to happen what had happened to the previous MAA's but that's so unfair...why REGINE? While the actual winner( parokya ni edgar ) had only 3-5% at the time they were voting. Were their other factors included in the voting? Like texting? For the first month (from 15 Nov to 14 Dec 03) we showed the total number of votes via a bar chart against each nominee. This was to spur fans into voting for their favourites and allowing them to see what each nominee's support during that period of time. [This may be what your writers were referring to] For the following six weeks, the website no longer showed the bar charts and we kept it all confidential till the night of the awards itself. The entire voting included online, SMS and postcard return mechanisms. These were then tabulated and results were audited accordingly. We would appreciate your understanding that we do not reveal final votes nor percentages as it would be unfair to other artists who received less nominations.
