Pops Fernandez comes home so filming of ‘Zsa Zsa Zaturnah’ won’t be delayed
Filming of Regal Entertainment’s "Zsa Zsa Zaturnah" stood the risk of a major delay when Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, who plays the main protagonist to Zsa Zsa Padilla’s character, was initially intimated not able to come home in time for the last two shooting days of the 2006 Metro Manila Film Festival’s entry, supposed to be Oct. 11-12.
Because of this, Zsa Zsa Padilla faced a dilemma because she was supposed to have a kidney operation after she finished shooting "Zsa Zsa Zaturnah." She was supposed to go under the knife on Oct. 16. In a text message to Mother Lily, the producer of the action-fantasy flick, Zsa Zsa expressed displeasure as she said "how could they have done this to us? I feel so bad..."
Mother Lily, was also, understandably, fuming mad because she felt that Pops Fernandez and her manager Arnold Vigafria were not about to fulfill their commitment to finish the movie on time.
And if the lady producer appeared so concerned about Zsa Zsa’s health, it was also understandable. Zsa Zsa’s kidney condition is fast deteriorating.
Pop’s manager reportedly couldn’t force Pops to come home in time for the last shooting days because then she would have to use her tourist visa to leave again for the US to meet another concert commitment. If this happens, she wouldn’t be allowed to work with just her tourist visa. Her manager is said to be working with a lawyer in the US to work out an extension and to convert her single entry working visa to a multiple entry.
It was said that the shooting schedule of Pops and Zsa Zsa for the movie was scheduled two months in advance. Reportedly, another talent of Arnold Vegafria, Chokoleit, has also caused delay in his shooting because he had a concert abroad so they had to wait for his arrival before they could resume shooting.
But of course, everything is now water under the bridge, as Pops decided it was more important to finish "Zsa Zsa Zaturnah" on time than accept to do another concert in the US.
So now everyone is happy. Mother Lily most especially.
