ood news to all Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez fans!
The estranged couple is continuing the harmony that they are currently experiencing in their personal life and transcends it in their music as the two are featured in a love song together. This specific song will be the carrier single of Martin's new album to be released third week of July.
Ironically, the cut from the album that they will be singing entitled "Goodbye" (originally sung by Regine Velasquez) is about lost love. It will be the very first single of Martin's newest compilation outing under EMI entitled "When Love is Gone."
If we know Martin, he'd surely say "Goodbye" may be some sort of a statement in the midst of all talks of reconciliation between the two. Martin has time and again told us those self-deprecating lines, "if I didn't love Pops so much, I would go back to her. She deserves somebody much better than an old unfaithful and wornout guy like me."
That comment has prompted us to "preach" to Martin. With your indulgence, we told Martin of our conviction that even the worst of sinners can be made brand new if one believes in God. We told him that's what he has to show Pops, if his heart's desire is truly bent to win her back.We were pacified when Martin said, "thank you, I have hope again."
Anyway, Martin and Pops will sing a duet of "Goodbye" on "ASAP" tomorrow to launch the single for the first time. The two will soon be seen in the song's music video which was directed by Louie Ignacio.
Martin's new album "When Love Is Gone" is actually an offshoot of the very successful "Best Wishes" album which he released last year, a compilation of the best wedding songs. The idea was hatched after Martin, himself, commented "why don't we come up with an album of break-up songs" during the launch of the wedding theme songs album.
In this compilation, there will be a few original compositions like "Hanggang Langit," "Nasaan Ka Man,"Alvina Sy's "Minsan Lang," "Naghihintay," "Never Said Goodbye," "Before You Say Goodbye," and the title track, "When Love Is Gone."
The rest of the album's repertoire are well-loved heartbreak songs like "There's No Easy Way" by James Ingram; "I Don't Want You To Go" by Lani Hall (a duet with Ima Castro); "Let Me Be The One" by Jimmy Bondoc; "Please Don't Ask Me" by John Farnham; "The Sorry Song" which Martin sang with Brian McKnight; "One Last Cry" by Brian McKnight; "Separate Lives" by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin (a duet with Zsa Zsa Padilla); "Somewhere Down The Road" by Barry Manilow; "Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin," and "Kahit Isang Saglit."
"When Love Is Gone" is available under EMI starting third week of July
