WE KNEW beforehand the outcome of that 24-hour marathon session at
the House of Representatives on Tuesday and Wednesday.
And we knew it even days before we watched our favorite Congress
people on national television, trying hard to explain their
individual votes.
But either way they voted, whether pro or anti, one thing was clear
to many of us down here in my neighborhood from that live television
broadcast. That is, our beloved Congress people might as well just
have been picking their noses instead.

THUS, after the longest day in the history of the House of
Representatives, some 230 honorable representatives of the people,
finally, once and for all, settled their karaoke bar bills.
No, not those, they actually settled an issue of national concern,
which was the most important issue ever to hit the land since the
Pops-Martin breakup.
For in a rare well-attended plenary session, those eminent
representatives of the people voted on... well, a freaking House
committee report.
Mind you, some other business of the House, such as the trillion-peso
national debt, never got as much interest from our lawmakers as that
particular committee report.
It only goes to show, ladies and gentlemen, that many of our
representatives know exactly what their priority should be.
And it is none other than "pork."
