giveaway- be a gambler at their casino!!
G r e e t i n g s,
Just thinking out-loud..
Pops and Regine should disapprove of that kind
of give-away for their music fans who go to casinos
for the sole purpose to see them.
This was posted here earlier :

( I'll take the fish and chips special. lol.. )
I hope Pops doesn't get talked into trying out any casinos
before or after performing in those hotels that house
them on her tour. She'll may have more luck in marry Martin
again than coming out ahead playing at those places. (Unless
she knows how to count the cards at the Blackjack tables.
Which is against some laws according to the movie " Casino"
with Sharon Stone. hehe.. Now that was the kind of movie role
that would win you an acting award! Maybe Pops can play the
real-life role of a well-known celeb who eats, breathes and
lives within the casino culture. )
You know, Pops fans..
I don't really like seeing something like that. The concert/
show producers or whoever is attached to the casino where
our artists are performing at.. when they offer something
like a "players club card" to pinoy music fans.
Maybe its just me. But there something that is seemly slimy
about trying to get the fans of music artists/performers
to play in their casinos.
Anyone here ever watch an artist play in any Casino Pinoy
around the country before? Where they offer something like
p200-300 in casino coins for every person with a concert
ticket. All they have to do is present the used ticket
at the slot machines coin counter after the show? What
a marketing move that is. Effective too.. I once saw
uh, wats da singer again.. uh, its at the tip of my-
DEESA! hehe.. Yeah. She was offered or given so many
hundreds worth of tokens/slot machine coins after her
show at Pagcor before. She didn't even know how to
play the slot machine. I came to her rescue by showing
her where to pull the lever besides the buttons she was
messing around with. Then I pointed out that in order
to win the jackpot she should put in three(3) coins
instead of just one like she was doing. Told her the
real life horror story of one player who came in for
the first time via watching another music artist there..
Wait! She was no music artist! She was some sexy pinay
bimbo who knew she couldn't sing so she dressed to
confuse everyone watching to that minor detail.. Uh,
lose my train of thought here- Oh! And someone who
watched her show played the slot machines for the
first time ever since slot machines seem to be posted
outside all the exits from the show room.. anyway,
she played one coin too. And then she hit the BIG,
BIG jackpot! It was for a brand new car and about
p5 million in cash.. tax free! So she was screaming
like Jane would be calling Tarzan for dinner only
to find out with one coin she won only p5,000.oo!
I hear she's never been back since. Even in the
city's limits. So guess what Deesa started to do?
She made sure she put in two(2) coins in instead.
Wat? Wat? Why?!! To lessen the embarassment if she
hit the jackpot too. lol..
But thats what casinos want. New blood playing. Even
though our casinos are really suppose to be for the
tourists to use. And I'm sure why they even handle
celebrity shows in them. To get in new players before
they regular ones lose all they got. Unless they work
for a bank or in gov't.. then those players go on
and on and on forever. Thanks to all the taxpayers
who are financing them by paying their taxes. >;->
On a serious note- and its a sad one.. people do
have the choice to play their "complimentary" coins
then leave when they are all gone. What's 300.oo
worth of free coins? But what bothered me before
was a practice of certain casinos of playing talents
or celebrities who performed with alot/plenty/some
even mostly.. in card table playing chips. Tsk..
I met one celeb who told me ( actually may have been
complaining about it ) that half the talent fee would
be given in casino chips. I heard when those were
gone the celeb also used the other half too. I kid
you not.
I don't have to tell you about the number of local
stars ( and some are big, big stars ) who are said
to be regulars at the casino. So what? Yeah. That's
true. Its fun for some. But I meant to say regular
"losers" there. That's the difference. Because I
can't see losing all the time as something that is
fun.
Ok. I'm actually opening up on something I shouldn't
be here. But that's the real reason why I touched
on the topic. One of my all-time favorite artist
use to sing there regularly and play after. Now
she only plays.. And I miss seeing her perform
the most among all that rarely do these days.
I won't bother to touch on Nora we-all-know-who
since that showbiz secret came out loud about her
and casinos last year. I have gotten several people
to voluntarily banned themselves from local casinos.
It was on the request of love ones and concerned
friends. I'm sorry that my old favorite artist
and Nora don't have those kind of concerned
friends and love ones or even thoughtful fans
to hear their inner call for help.
In another few years it might be too late for
them. In my limted observations there seems to
be a certain age for those who are considered
an "elder" who reached the point of no going
back. And they play those computer one-armed
bandits till the day after they died from it.
I hope none of you have parents and love ones
who thinks they are well-off enough to help
the gov't through all financial crisis by
playing in our local casinos that are pretty
boring compared to the ones you see in Las
Vegas on the Discovery Channel. How come we
don't have water slides.. malls inside the
casinos.. all-you-can-eat for p100.00..
Ours look more like a boxed room for mice.
Don't get me started on any more stories..
I heard them all from friends of officials
who don't hold office anymore at their
city halls. If you want to see your mayor,
vice-major and so on and so forth you set
the appointment to meet in the VIP rooms
at your local or nearest Casino Pinoy.
Actually I had to do that once. hehe.. geez.
>;-/
I know the media say its our overseas workers
who help fuel the economy. But if I'm not
mistaken the gov't collects three times
more from the many casinos we have now.
But I could be wrong. NOT.
