Pops, excited to do concert with Ogie
Pops Fernandez says she is excited to do a show with Ogie Alcasid on July 29 at the Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati. "I have done productions with Ogie but not a concert so this should be interesting as it is fun to do."
Pops describes Ogie to be "a very dedicated performer who is so masarap kasama."
The concert produced by Royal Era Entertainment is made possible by GMA7, Calayan Surgicenter, Play and Display, Bench, One Card and Don Henrico’s." Pops and Ogie will be joined by special guests Gladys Guevarra and Ritchie Paul Gutierrez. The show will be directed by Al Quinn with Homer Flores as musical director.
One of the highlights of the show are Pops and Ogie’s duet. Fans are expecting that they will be doing "Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang," the Ogie composition which Pops did with the Freestyle and became a hit a few years back.
Pops is also doing a new album where she will be singing compositions from Ogie, former husband Martin Nievera and her 19–year-old son Robin. Pops said to the media, "You wouldn’t believe the title of what Martin wrote for the album, it’s ‘Still In Love’ and it’s beautiful song."
Meanwhile, Ogie wrote the track "The Hardest Part" and her son, the song "Friend" which Pops describes as something someone like foreign singer John Meyer would compose. The song ended up a duet between mother and son because according to Pops, the song fit Robin’s voice.
"I have been bugging my son to write a song for me. Meron na akong natapos na album before but he failed to write one for that. So ngayon, ginamit ko na ang pagka–nanay ko at pinilit ko na siyang magsulat ng kanta para sa’kin."
