Because it got mentioned and gained some mileage ( Even Ricky Low talked about it.) in the entertainment media that story got it's clearance to go mainsteam and live a life of its own whenever Pops is mentioned or interviewed. But it's a non-issue and certainly something that shouldn't be taken seriously by understanding fans who are never taken in by anything in the media. It won't go away. But everyone (who knows better) knows it couldn't be applied as a truth when it comes to Pops. But the way our showbiz thingy works it is usual showbiz generated lies (made of stories for news sake) that gets attached to the artist and rarely something that is actually true and shocking. Unless it was something the artist revealed herself or her management. Some say any story is a good story for business if it keeps the celebrity popular. I don't agree with it. Fans best complain to those writers if they don't like what they say about their idols. Especially when you know its not true. Otherwise, they'll think no complains is a go signal to continue. Alam wala naman sigurong masama kung mag-duet sila kasi nasa iisang show sila at buti nga pumapayag si Pops na maki-duet sa isang hindi naman pro na singer, bakit noong si Carlos Agassi ang laging partner ni Pops wala pumupuna sa kanya.
