Subject: Yes, it does bother me. I always wondered why they would give us an introduction to a character who sounds interesting and never follow up on it. It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted the show to have a background timeline or all the episodes to stand alone.
In reply to: Jubellant 's message, "In the Jimmy Blackhorse episode Harriet makes a reference to her sister having eight bridesmaids and she only wanted four. Harm has made several references about his grandmother. Does it bother you that you never got to meet these characters or even got an explanation why we never saw them at critical points in their lives? Did it bother you that we never heard much about Mac's Uncle Matt after that first episode?" on 22:33:05 04/28/07 Sat

in season 3 or 4, maybe we would have. Harm and Mac could have made a trip to see his grand mother.

Also consider following up on Trish's comment about Mac after she finds out he's not seeing Annie any more.

"She's quite the Girl!"

Which to me makes me think that she has met Mac a few times before, which seems quite likely considering how many times they were on the west coast.

Also after they came back from Russia, it would make sense that Mac would have gone with him to tell Trish about Harm Sr.

She was the one who talked with Russian woman.

But as they say "It's not what you know, but who you know."

I'm sure DB took care of the people he worked with before like Big Bud, who has been in several other DB productions.
