I made a mistake, saying Lightner's Topsey was red. Thats what happens when you think you know it all, because someone told you something, who thought they knew it all also. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Lightner's Topsey [Colby] as pictured in the book, "Colby's Book of the American Pit Bull Terrier" by Louis Colby page 86 clearly shows a black and white dog. To say Hemphill stated that Lightner's Vick's Sire and Dam were red is an error. My information supposedly came from a reliable source but Louis Colby superceded that data. Just goes to show you how easy it is to be misinformed even in print.
