But what I do know about these dogs is true as far as I know and was told by those that either owned them or had something to do with them. WIDLERS RED BRUISER--He was said to be a good dog that was as honest as the day was long.He was when I seen him around nine years old.Had more energy then most dogs half his age.He was covered with war ribbons from head to foot but looked as healthy as a dog his age.He was said to be one of the gamest dogs Jake had at the time. One thing that seperates old Brusier from the others that Jake had and Ron Sites who at the time was takeing care of them for Jake was he was a people dog and a dog that did not go out of his way to start trouble but if it came his way he would take it head on.Said to be a three striper. But a producer he was and he produced game dogs with the same ability as he was. RED APACHE--He was a beautiful good looking dog in demand all over the mid west and beyond. He produced conformation champions as he himself was a great conformation champion. But like Brusier he himself was game and was said to make one point for himself. When I seen him he was one great looking dog and outgoing. But now that one asked about the father and son one might want to know about another son that was as real as could be which was MORGAN'S BEAR.A half brother to Apache. Bear was as game as game could be and like his half brother was a one point holder.Bear had everything but was like his father and brother in more demand for his stud ability. This dog made a name for himself for what he produced.Like his sire and brother he was outgoing and always looking for a pat or rub. Now understand these were just honest dogs nothing special unless like APACHE being a conformation champion. All produced and did it well. Don't forget we are talking about rednose dogs that did carry a higher percentage of O.F.R.N. blood. I did not own any of the above but did have a son of RED BEAR.Unlike his sire he was somewhat ify around strangers. When I first was given him he and I had alot to work out. Example ----I plead quility 100%,I had him chained and I never took into consideration that when the girl that owned him him to me he was a total different dog. As the next day I went out to feed up and when I went to his spot he came out full bore trying to show who was the boss. Well I got on knees and hands and slowly approached him at eye level with him barking crowling stomping etc. The closer I got the more confused he was about the nut that was approaching him like a blooming nut case. But like I said what went through my mine at the time was ebyond me but I proceeded and he just cocked his head back and forth looking at me puzzled. I grabed his cheeks and rubbed his nose on mine and what took place next was like a mircle he started licking me and then jumping up and playing and acting as if he was a pup. I'am glad that he inherited the genes of his family.Whatever one does donot do this as it was the first time ever and the last time I would ever do something that stupid again. What made me thing I could pull this off was beyond me. JUST WANTED TO SAY THIS LINE OF DOGS WAS STABLE.Jake had some dogs that should have never lived another day,I believe I counted at least ten if not more. Why someone would keep maneaters is beyond me. I hoped I answered these questions right for you.One thing is for sure there is the good the bad the ugly in all strains. If you have this line of dogs and you feed, and pick up after them and you spend hard earned money on them and they suit your needs be content no matter what anyone else has to say about them.
