I may get a little "preechy" here, so excuse me and don't take it personally.

John Hurt's voice is and always will be the voice of Aragorn. My mother read the Lord of The Rings to me when i was 5, and the whole story framed my playtime. (I'm 27.) Hurt's voice resonated with the weather torn, 39 year old Aragorn that is portrayed in the 70's cartoon Lord of The Rings. If you have only recently become involved with TLOTR, then i suggest you broaden your ideas about it and watch that movie. Hurt simply IS the voice of Aragorn, and I'm sure that Tolkien would have agreed with Aragorn having at least a voice that sounds well traveled.

Hurt is also the voice of the Horned KIng in the Black Cauldron. Exceedingly creepy, his voice alone could give you nightmares!

He is the voice of Hazel in Watership Down. The movie is decent enough, but if you plow through and read the book, you will be able to hear Hurt's voice popping out as Haxel, before you even see the movie. So perfect.

I am a cartoon movie fan, but in all fairness, I do like movies with real people in them as well. ;-)

Check these out if you haven't already.

P.S. I am chomping at the bit for Prisoner of Azkaban comes out!!!! I guess Hurt won't be in another movie until Goblet comes out!

I highly recomend "Mr. Forbush and the Penguins" or, as it was released in the USA, "Cry of The Penguins", 1971.
It's recently been rereleased! I would rent or buy this ASAP. It's John, John, and more John. Nearly nothing else but penguins and skeets! A very personal journey with John, oh, yes. He lets you into his head.
Enjoy. It's well worth it for a Hurt fan. ;)
