Subject: Syntax is the usual order of words, or the correct grammatical use of language. Ask yourself if Franklin writes in an unusual way. Does the order of his words seem different? How is this effective? As for diction: does he use flowery, fancy words, or very difficult obscure ones, or does he use plain English? Remember, plain English, if written well, can be just as or even more effective that difficult words.
