Subject: Vollrath and Jones Metal Products Porcelain Enema Cans

I purchased online several porcelain enamel enema buckets. One Site had a 2-qt Vollrath can, and another had several Jones Metal Products cans. The Jones cans are brand new. the Vollrath new as well. One of the Jones cans is described as 8-inches tall and 5 1/8-inch diameter. I figure that computes to 2.858 qts capacity. I would love to learn more about the enema cans that were ever made by these two companies. I'd also love to get a new French porcelain enema can as well, someday. The interesting fact that I learned was that both companies now make kitchen and restaurant equipment instead of the enema cans.
I also purchased new silicone tubings, connectors, close-offs. Believe me, these will not have flowers in them nor will they be ornamental on a wall.

There are several other brands, Asepticn, Columbia, and Polar for example.

There are loads of French cans on eBay, but not new.

The new irrigating cans are almost all made of plastic and are readily available. There are some new Stainless ones available too.

I couldn't locate Asepticn (Asepticon??) or Columbia; out of curiosity. I'll look at the Polar too. I think my finds will keep me content.

The can you spoke about (I think) was COLUMBIAN (made in Terre Haute, Indiana) not Columbia and can often still be found for sale on Ebay and a number of other sites from time to time. It is a 2 quart can, usually still with a big bright red label. I have one and I can tell you that it really gives a good (I guess bad when one considers the big stomach ache and terrible urges to crap when it is emtying and the very explosive (feces, farts and diarrhea) that result when you are filled with hot sudsy water from it - count on being on the toilet for an hour and stinking up the bathroom something quite aweful!

Lucky you! I like enemas and have taken many, many, over the past 60 years. I already have a stainless steel bucket but remember the porcelain enamel can that my mother (a nurse) had in our house and used on us. When one of them arrives, expect that I'll use it almost immediately (after thorough cleaning). Thanks, Sandy

Today I used the Columbian porcelain enamel can several times. I fitted it out with a very small section of silicone hose and a 30-inch long rubber, Fr 36 rectal tube with side only hole. I haven't used Ivory soap for quite a while and decided it would be the first soap to use with my new equipment. Now to figure out how to explain to my wife that I now have acquired a Vollrath, a Jones Metal Products, and a Columbian enema can; especially since I already have a stainless steel unit.

I had forgotten what it was like to receive an enema from a porcelain enamel can. This brings back so many memories. Tomorrow, I'll use the Jones Metal Products enema can. Maybe I'll fit it out with a typical silicone hose and clamp, and a black nozzle that I already have; one that begins as, perhaps, 3/4-inch dia and widens to about 1.50-in diameter before reducing to small diameter to fit the outside of the bum. Ivory soap again.

My husband Marvin and I have two cans, a Jones can used by my Aunt Kathy who was an RN to give me many enemas with, she also used it to give enemas to my three sisters and my mother.

The second is a Volrath used by Marven's mother an LPN to give him enemas with.

We use both cans several times a month and I always use a can when giving Marvin a "Miss. Ryner Enema" which simulates the first enema he had an orgasm from that was given by a nurse with that name, it was the third of nine enemas he was given in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy.
