Betty- I have 2 boys 8 and 12 that I use the douche nozzle on. It seems to work much better. I give their enemas in the bathroom so after each enema they merely get up from my lap and sit on the toilet to expell. You may want to consider changing the locale of your kids enemas.

I have boys - two of them. I'm interested in switching them from the enema nozzle to the douche nozzle because of what I have read here and because I use it for my enemas and do think that it makes taking the soapy water easier. But when I take my enemas, I find that unless I insert the douche nozzle in me for about its full length it doesn't make the enemas easier. I have zero discomfort with a full insertion but I am an adult female and of course do not have a prostate gland. With the boys, who are eight and eleven, how far in should I put the douche nozzle?

Dee,
Start by gently inserting a well-lubed douche nozzle about two and a half inches into their anus. If there are no complaints, start the enema flow, and advance about one more inch.

Dee I sert the nozzle about half way for my 8yo and the entire lenght(5") for the oldest. Neither has ever complained and they take more enema with the douch nozzle. Of couse, make sure it is well lubricated, I use KY jelly.
