 In my family we have always used left-lateral with knees somewhat bent. Its comfortable and you need not change position for a subsequent enema.

Sorry, I meant for rectal temps. For enemas we use the same position.

over mom's lap laying on that wounderful preheated soft fuzzy fleecy pink blanket mom draped overher lap when she gave an enema from her red Davol Paris enema bag.I loved the smell of the almost hot fleece blanket and the Ivory soap and rubber enema bag.I loved getting warm gentle loving soap suds enemas from mom her enema blanket and red enema bag.
