Hi all,
I have Crohn's disease & need to get a mild soapsuds solution up to the terminal Ileum (junction of the small & large intestine) to help break up a Bezoar (fecal mass) that reoccurs there because of Crohn's disease & many pseudo polyps. The bezoar was first visualized during a Barium enema in 1980. They did a second Barium enema to better visualize what they thought was a tumor. One week later, I had my fist (very painful) colonoscopy. It was manually broken up with the colonoscope. My Gastro doc recently told me it was the only fecal bezoar he has ever seen in over 25,000 colonoscopies. Lucky Me!!

I'm no newbie to the bag, been a klysmo since about age 8. I can take a large volume enema, but have only managed 4L four times, all four during colonoscopy preps. The problem is that I can't hold a big enema. Once the clamp is closed, its off to the toilet.

My gastro knows I use enemas & said I could try, but it would be difficult to take an enema large enough to do the job. I do have 30" silicone colon tube and I think this could be the key. My plan is to have my wife give me a few smaller (2L) enemas to clear the way, then insert the colon tube to its full length. This should put it about halfway through the transverse colon. Then, while lying on my right side, have her give me 2-2.5L of a mild sopasuds solution. Since there would be no solution in the ascending colon or rectum, I should not have a strong urge to go, correct? I think I should be able to hold this for a while (maybe with some extra benefits from the wife), unless I have bad cramps.

Anyone have any other ideas how to acomplish this?

Thanks for your time,
Vapor
