To ezem: Here's the distinction: 1) On admission to a licensed medical hospital or clinic, as part of the registration procedure, the patient, parent or guardian of the person if a minor, signs a release form authorizing medically necessary procedures to be performed by pjysicians and other medically qualified hospital personnel. This is a legal CYA document routinely required by all medical care facilities these days. 2)Child protective sercvices (CPS) laws vary from State to State, but here in Texas they are very strict. Anything that causes pain and/or potential injury to a child, whether administered by a paremt or another person, can be fair game for prosecution if someone turns in a report. Does this mean that a parent can't give an enema to a child who is constipated? No, not at all. It's the circumstances under which it is done that make the difference.
