You are almost correct. Many meds can be and are administered rectally, for example, suppositories for severe vomiting. As an RN I have given my share of meds via the rectum.
Now speaking of giving Viagra rectally; I have done so with my husband but with a little varation that adds to our foreplay with great results.
I have my husband strip naked and get into the knees/chest position on our bed. I then lube his anus with my tougue and lots of saliva. Next I take the Viagra pill and gently push it into his anus and rectum with my finger. I finish pushing it deeper using my tongue which drives him wild. Not sure if him taking it rectally or the way I give it to him has anything to do with the fact that he will get a raging erection in about 20 minutes but he gets very hard and gives it to me until I am sore.
Might give it a try again tonight if I can get him away from the football games on TV!

You can get a dispersible tablet. Grind it wet in a glass of water. And syringe it in with a small bulb.

One friend of mine would give a suppository to her 5 year old son while he was sleeping. He would not fuss as much that way. He would wake up and run to his little potty and fill it full. I do not think he even knew that he had a suppository. If she tried to give him one when he was awake he would kick and scream. I helped her hold him one time I felt so sorry for the boy he hated it. Her plan works.

Sometimes I take a suppository, so that i can better start to sleep. Here in germany, you will get a lot of drugs as suppositories. :)

Don't know about now, but chloral hydrate and some of the barbiturates (Seconol) used to come in supp form for sedation/sleep. Fell out of favor because of the risk of dependency and respiratory depression.

I have seen melatonin suppositories for sale on ebay as well as some health/nutrition sites. I believe they are made by Zeptil. They're pretty pricey though...
