Yes, while I was in the hospital I was given a number of suppositories. I think they were for upset stomach, but it is hard to know since they often do not explain what they are doing or why. They don't want you to forget that you are the dumb patient and they are the all knowing nurse. I must have had at lease 10 suppositories pushed up my rectum the first few days after my operation. I'm glad all suppositories were given by good looking female nurses. All but one nurse knew what she was doing and pushed the suppository way up inside so it would not slip back out. The unexperienced one must have been anti rectum. She would not push her finger far enough in to keep the suppository from slipping back out. I had to tell her to push it in further to make it stay. She eventaully got the idea and pushed the suppository way inside and it stayed long enought to do what ever it was suppose to do.
