 Observing others getting enemas in our household, when I was a child, was pretty commonplace.
During the summer, mom liked to administer the enemas out-of-doors, near the outdoor privy (we had both indoor and outdoor facilities in the 1980s). Mom would announce that "today is enema day" and we had to be ready (that meant being naked) when she called. If we were going to have an outdoor enema, my brothers would simply undress by the privy (in the summer, often they'd often wear nothing more than gym shorts) while us girls would get undressed in the house, don a robe, then meet mom by the privy where we'd hang the robe on a hook on the two-holer building.
Sometimes when mom had a real production line going for the five of us getting enemas, I'd end up sitting next to my brother expelling. We didn't think anything of that situation, even when we were in high school.
Our indoor bathroom was quite small so mom gave enemas in the kitchen and we'd take our turns expelling.
If anything good came of this, besides being very healthy, it was the fact that while other teens were boing bonkers over men's magazines, my brothers would probably take one glance and simply think "Been there ... I've seen all that." However, no one ever mentioned our family enemas.

Most moms would watch to make sure it worked so if need be you got another soapy enema and probably more to make it work well. Being older they want to watch to embarrass you and announce that you will need another enema.

My mom was abit of a mechanic when it came to enemas. She was a nurse and enemas were for health reasons. I got enemas for constipation when I was young. Occassionally I got one just because it was time.
when I hit puberty, I received enemas before a doctor's appointment.From the time that I was 12 to almost 17, I received an enema series every Sunday morning. As I have written in some messages to members my religion on Sunday mornings was a Red Enema Bag.
In my youth, the small rectal pipe was used. As I turned 12, the douche nozzle became the nozzle of preference.
The process ws always the same. I was to shower and wash key body parts. I was allowed to have the towel and a tee shirt on as I watched her mix the first 2 quart enema. She would hang the bag on the shower rod and I would take my position of the towel on the bathroom floor, on my left side with my right knee up. No need to complain, I was getting it no matter what. the nozzle was pushed in and the water released. I took the entire 2 quarts and then the hard part: holding it for five minutes.
While I was expelling, I would watch the bag being refilled for the first of my two rinse enemas. Then I expelled too and at last mom wiped me thoroughly herself. It was our tradition after Sunday enema
Didn't really like them much, but in the late 1960's enemas were a fact of life.
I don't know what they did for my physical health, but they helped strenthen my mental attitude.

When I was a kid my Mother always made me undress completely when she gave me an enema until my 18 when I left home. I guess it was to keep me from dirtying my clothes or pyjamas in case I wasn't able to hold it until I got to the potty or the toilet. Evaluation of my expelling was done by Mother always but she wiped me after enema till 13 only. Later I was allowed to do it myself and Mother checked result only and gave permission to take on clothes if my butt was clean enough.
