Yes. That ex lax with phenol really did the job. We would take all six tablets in those small boxes sold by every drug store and newstand for a dime, then 12 and 15 cents. Even after I no longer wrestled I would use Ex Lax for constipation. I graduated to the 18 tablet side in college and when I had a problem two tablets would take care of it. My mother wanted me to Have an enema while telling me ex lax would dstroy the regularity of my system. Ex lax with senna does not do much for me so I take either a small bottle of castor oil or a bottle of citrate of magnesia. I think the use of a laxative to make weight is forbidden at all levels of wrestling now. I don't know if any kids still use one.

Joe: My first experience with a laxative was when I was 10.
I experimented with dad's ExLax when I had not had a BM for a week.
Not knowing it took several hours to work, I took a total of 6 tablets.
The results were unforgettable when it finally kicked in. I'm constipated
frequently, so I soon discovered enemas and I experimented with many laxatives. Nothing worked as good the phenol ExLax, either for a little help or a complete purge. I don't like the new Senna ExLax either, but I wish someone would make Castor Oil taste better.
Did you wrestle in Rhode Island ? Have a brother named John ?
