 Have you been aware, that while receiving an enema or a suppository, your genitals are exposed? How did you feel about that?

My very last rectal tube/funnel enema was given on the bathroom floor with my father watching every single funnel poured. Toward the last part of the enema, before I said, "that's enough" I got excited (11 years old) and my mother looked up at my father and said, "look." My father just noded his head up and down to indicate he had observed my excitement.

Growing up when I was about 6 to about 8 years old I got quite a few enemas in front of my girl cousins who were just a few years older than me. My enemas that mom gave me were across her lap, so mostly only my bare backside was on view to them, but during the time when my mom undressed me they did have an opportunity to see my frontal nudity. Also when the enema was over and mom stood me up they got a view also. I was too young I think to feel any shame or embarrassment at the time, but when I got older I thought of those enemas and felt the embarrassment of it all. It's funny how you remember certain events growing up and other events are forgotten.

The most embarrassed I've ever been in my life was when I was getting my first barium enema. The technologist gave me a skimpy paper gown to put on, and it just barely covered my willy when standing. When I went to get up on the x-ray table, everything was shining bright as day. Those girls in that room saw all my junk, and I about died. And it got even worse when the girl giving me the enema made me bring both knees to my chest for the insertion, exposing my nuts as plain as day. I started freezing up from humiliation and tried to pull the paper back over my backside , but the technologist stopped me. She said "honey..let me tell ya...Your backside ain't the first guy's butt we've seen in here and it wont be the last." "Nothing fazes us,so just try to relax and this will go so much easier". She was exactly right, they treated me with plenty of dignity considering how exposed I was. The enema was uncomfortable, but most barium enemas are. But neither of those young women in that room even acknowledged me being practically naked, I guess they see it so much that they think nothing of it.

For many years I went to the office of an old time chiropractor, an elderly woman, who gave me enemas. She was in her early 70s when I started with her and around 90 when our relationship ended. I'd come to her about once a month for an enema and while she'd be preparing the soap water I would arrange myself on her treatment table in Sims position with my genitalia pushed backward between my legs and clearly in view. As these enemas were, ostensibly, medical/therapeutic procedures, nothing was ever said about it, but I felt deliciously naughty.

I was re reading some old threads and don't remember seeing this one. Regarding pushing male genitals back between the legs is I think best, not naughty! When giving enemas to my patients I for some of the enemas do a modified sims where both knees are bent to the chest. Pulling the penis and scrotum under between the legs is much mor comfortable for the patient, all the more if there is an erection as there is plenty of room for comfort and growth, assuming the penis is fully pulled under. this is also what I and my son's prefer for our enemas when in a side lying position. How many have tried it or had someone pull it all under when receiving an enema, and how did you like it?

No, I have never heard of a man who experienced an enema in the left-side postion using the technique you described.
Has anyone else here ever heard of that method?

Wouldn't that technique defeat the purpose of the left-side postion, which is used in hospitals to provide less exposure? And wouldn't your method be uncomfortable, aside from the added exposure?

I get my enemas either bend over the kitchen table or in the laundry room on a table in there on all 4's and my chest and head down. My genitals are exposed but to me it is not a big deal.

I got enemas in the legs up position with a bulb syringe, so I was always aware that my genitals were fully exposed. I was also well aware of my genital exposure as I stood in the bathroom with my pants and undershorts removed while the enema was prepared. The exposure was never an embarrassment. I think it contributed to the arousal caused by an actual or imagined enema.

Of course certain positions lead to more exposure than others. The knee-chest and back postions are that way.
Each is preferred in certain cases for good reasons.

But isn't the left side position used by nurses and aides
chosen because it results in less exposure? That's why the
suggestion made by Filipino Orderly doesn't seem right.

His way of using that position seems to result in more exposure than the position usually requires. What would the advantage doing it that way? Maybe we're missing something, so I hope he will explain his previous post.

I think it is more comfortable in a side lying enema to have both knees pulled up in a modified Simms or kind of a fetal position. This adds support for the abdomen and is generally comfortable except that the male genitals get crowded and squeezed by the legs to the abdomen and pulling the penis and scrotum down gives more room and gets them out of the way, all the more so if an erection occurs. It is an option offered, not mandatory.

In giving a series, I think changing positions for each enema maximizes the advantage of each position. For the first, I usually do left side, then knee chest on all fours if patient is able to tolerate assuming no head or neck issues, then right side, then on back.

I hope this clarifies.

Thanks for the explanation, but you said that male orderlies administer to male patients in your country, so it would be accepted there.

In the U.S., we have no more orderlies, so males usually receive from female aides or female nurses. The normal side position gives minimum exposure, but the method described above has maximum exposure. They would be very unlikely to use the position you use.

Has anyone on the board had any experience with it, administering or receiving? Is it as comfortable as
