I was born around 1940. It seems I was always constipated and received an enema from mom about once a week. I got to the point that I really appreciated her enemas. I always felt so much better afterward. I also got enemas when I was sick. Mumps, measles, chickenpox, were all treated with an enema. I also had pneumonia several times. An enema was ordered by our family doctor (he made house visits back then). So I was no stranger to the big red bag. One time my sister came into the bathroom to ask mom if I was giving an enema. Mom told her I was on the receiving end and chased her away. About age 13 mom stopped giving me my much needed enema. I do not think I had ever had an erection, but the enemas stopped. My constipation did not stop. I started sneeking enemas when ever I could. I remember being in the bathtub taking a bath when the need for an enema became overwhelming. Since the bulb syringe was kept in the bathroom (the bag was kept under mom & dad's bed) I got the bulb out and injected a couple of bulb fulls of soapy bath water. Dad came to the bathroom door,I hid the bulb under the soap suds by holding it down between my legs. Dad said nothing (nor did I) and left as quickly as he had come in. The next day I found that the enema bulb had been stapled in a large envelope and stored back in the bathroom cabinet. I knew I'd been caught but nothing was ever said. I got out the red bag whenever no one was at home. This was the only relief I was able to get during my high school years. I sometimes needed an enema so bad that I used a garden hose. At this point in life I did not think my parents were being very kind.
