I wonder if we're of the same "branch". My father is from Fairhaven MA. His father was also a John Lawrence and I believe grandfather too. My dad had an Aunt named Agnes and that generation had other siblings that I didn't know or hear about much as a child, just that one unmarried sister got "caught in the family way" (as I would hear them say) died in childbirth and Agnes, who was childless but married, raised her niece - Francis as her own. Any of this sound familiar?
