 I would go back being 6 or 7 years old. At home, my mum would take my pants and undies down and lay me on my back. She would then grab my feet and take my legs up to the diaper change position and insert the thermometer. She then held it all the time, sometimes reinserting after taking it out once. At the pediatrician, my pants and undies were pulled down, all the way to my feet, and I was put over my mothers lap. A nurse would then spread my butt cheeks and insert the thermometer.

I'm in my mid-fifties, and never had a rectal temp. taken after reaching age 5 at home, or at the doctor's office. Oral temps. were the norm at every pediatrician's office after that age, as far as I knew. Fortunately I never stayed in the hospital as a child or teen either, although I heard from friends who did that rectal temps. were taken even on teens on the pediatric wards in many cases, but not always. I think that it depended alot on the hospital policies. I've been told that rectal temps. were commonly taken even on adults in some hospitals, well into the 1980's. Again, I never had a rectal temp. taken either at home or by a doctor after age 5. The weird part of it is that my fetish started during my twenties, when a girlfriend introduced me to it.

it would be when I was between 6 and 12. At the doctor's office I had to get undressed for a check up. The doctor did his thing. When it came time for the RT, I had to bend over Mom's lap, at which point the nurse would pull down my panty to my ankles. With my mom holidng me firmly down across her lap, I felt the nurse part my cheeks, and insert the glass tube into my bottom. It felt cold. Once the RT was done, I still had to bend over Mom's lap and get the required shots in my rear. I cried and screamed during THAT procedure.
