 I was reading an old book for secretaries in training and I read the part where it listed a medical secretaries list of office duties.I couldn't help but to notice that one of the things listed was to take the patients vital signs including their temperature,and to take it either orally or rectally depending on the age of the patient.This makes me wonder:How many medical secretaries out there have done the honors of taking temperatures rectally?And were there nurses there at the time?Was there any special training for carrying out this procedure?
