In general a registered massage therapist administering a colonic should take a rectal temperature prior to administering a colonic irrigation. If they graduated from a legitimate school of Massage in Florida it is part of the curriculum as a high fever can be a counter indication for a colonic. In Florida any one giving a colonic must be a registered with the State Board of Massage and have taken the additional training to practice colon therapy.

Never heard of a colon therapist taking a rectal temperature, but my colon therapist routinely performs a digital rectal exam before she inserts the speculum.
