Having grown up as a Navy brat & then served 26 years myself, I visited military medical treatment facilities when I needed to.
True, nurses usually didn't get involved in mundane stuff like getting a temp from a kid. However, I remember several times that due to workload or in particular situations when a nurse (or sometimes a doctor), both military officers did get involved in or actually perform tasks that were usually performed by the enlisted technicians (corpsmen to the Navy & Marine folk). When a situation involved a child, anyone present who could assist would usually pitch in, as I described in an earlier post.
Staged photo or not ... enjoy what your eyes see & let your imagination finish the story in your mind for you.
