 I had mine taken several times by my wife 3 weeks ago. I was sick and burning up from a nasty viral cold. Any time but this I'd enjoyed letting her stick a thermometer up my rear, but it was really uncomfortable having it done rectally while I was irratable with a fever.

About 2 months ago after an extended business trip and airport-delayed for 12 hours. Finally got home with a sore throat, blinding headache and cough. Hubby took my temp and was 101. Had a couple of Tylenol, slept 10 hours straight and temp was normal the next morning.
